•   What will it do?

My project is  "IoT Bases Intravenous(IV) drip monitoring".

  • It can monitor and count  the drop flow though the drip chamber  from IV bottle.
  • It can measure the real time volume of the IV bottle in ml. presently i have taken Drip factor is 20 i.e 20 drop =1ml.The drip factor refers to the number of drops per milliliter of solution calibrated for an administration set. ... In general, standard (macrodrip) administration sets have a drip factor of 10, 12, 15, or 20 gtt/ml (drops per milliliter).
  • It can block the reverse flow of blood.Presently the system will automatically stop the flow of drip, when the rest amount IV volume become less then 50ml.
  • The information drip count,volume can be monitor remotely by app or web.

•    What processes will be used?

Laser diode and photo transistor is used when the drip pass through the drip tube.A Photo transistor is an electronic switching and current amplification component which relies on exposure to light to operate. When light falls on the junction, reverse current flows which are proportional to the luminance. Phototransistors are used extensively to detect light pulses and convert them into digital electrical signals. These are operated by light rather than electric current. 

when any object passing through the  leaser light it intensity will become less to phototransistor its create difference from the count leaser putting to photo transistor. Each fluctuation will count which continuously increasing  with counter in programming.

•    What questions need to be answered?

My main concern is in my project when both load cell segment  and drip sensor segment work together the drip count could not do properly some drip is not recorded. 

The input power supply is not work properly with all segment  in same time mainly the servo could not function properly .

•    How will it be evaluated?

Drip counting is quite accurate and IOT is working fine. If loadcell segment is activate then some drop is missing counting
